Senior Software Engineer - Hawthorn East

This role is critical to the continuous delivery of The Coles Plus subscription service. As a senior engineer you will play a pivotal role in building GraphQL APIs that connect Coles plus to the new services. This work directly supports a key strategic offering with key deliverables needed to be met. The Coles Plus subscription service covers the cost of home delivery fees for online purchases over $50 from Coles. It also covers any applicable fees for Rapid Click & Collect orders.
Experience
- Senior software engineer with at least 10 years’ experience
- Commercial experience with GraphQL is essential
- At least 3 years’ experience leading a team of developers
- Experience working in large scale projects and heavy-traffic platforms
- Ability to drive and enforce software engineering practices
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Good exposure to Agile Scrum working environments
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Great people person and excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the engineering team to develop delivery goals within agreed timelines
- Facility Agile Scrum practices within the team, offer support to delivery managers in defining timelines and project requirements
- Facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards whilst empowering and developing the engineering team’s skills
- Grow a culture that elicits a high-performing team and a enjoyable working environment
- Working collaboratively with the Business Stakeholders, and Business Programme Managers and Implementation partners to ensure delivery success
