The Position
Billanook College is seeking an inspiring and forward-thinking Head of Senior School to lead with vision, purpose, and care. This pivotal role will drive academic excellence, cultivate a strong culture of learning, and support the wellbeing and personal growth of every student. Commencing in January 2026, the successful candidate will bring a dynamic and collaborative leadership style, a deep commitment to student-centred education, and the ability to foster a supportive and inclusive school environment where both staff and students thrive.
Reporting to the Principal, The Head of Senior School provides dynamic leadership and strategic direction, as well as effective day to day management of the Senior School (Years 10 to 12). This involves closely working with the Head of Teaching and Learning to provide pathways for all students. Included in their scope is ensuring the pastoral care of both students and staff and meeting the information needs of current and prospective parents through marketing and public relations to ensure the enrolment base. The Head of Senior School is responsible for leading the pastoral team and whilst also being a member of the College Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate will be a registered teacher with a deep understanding of current educational theory and practice. They will have demonstrated expertise in pastoral and curriculum leadership, excellent management and communication skills, and a passion for fostering a child-safe and inclusive environment.
