Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia.

Right now, we’re bridging two worlds as we accelerate to more sustainable energy sources, while helping our customers provide the energy, chemicals and resources that society needs now.

We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their portfolio of assets. We solve complex problems by finding integrated data-centric solutions from the first stages of engineering and consulting to the last stages of installation and commissioning.

Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.

About the role

Worley has partnered with Fluor Australia to provide the one-of-a-kind capability needed to support Australia’s AUKUS commitments.

Worley Fluor Australia (WFA) is a unique combination of local operating experience, a proven track record in the delivery of complex multi-billion-dollar programs, in-house ports and maritime expertise, and nuclear capabilities including experience in the management and operation of critical naval nuclear propulsion infrastructure.

We are now looking to appoint a highly experienced Senior Project Director to support delivery of a major infrastructure program in South Australia.

As our Senior Project Director, you will play a crucial leadership role in the development of our bid and proposal, before stepping in to lead a multi-disciplined project team, delivering EPCM/PMC outcomes.

The project is a multi-billion-dollar, nation-building program of work that will contribute to the achievement of Australia’s long-term defence capability goals in the maritime domain.

What You’ll do

Provide clear and focused leadership for the project team to create a vision for project success and a strategy to fit that vision.

Management of senior stakeholder relationships at the leadership level.

Define roles and responsibilities, in particular the respective roles of the Project Director through collaboration with your Project Manager(s) leveraging the capabilities of our infrastructure and Defence personnel.

Provide strong people and team leadership with a focus on achievement of key milestones and other key project objectives.

Facilitate collaboration across your team, discussing critical issues, resolving problems, and directing activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.

Oversight of project portfolio through the entire EPCM/PMC phase.

Define and deliver the full schedule of project quality and safety requirements.

Ensure compliance with WFA policies and procedures and develop in depth knowledge of client and Government objectives, contract terms and policies.

What You’ll Have

You will be an Australian Citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain appropriate Defence security clearance and National Police Clearance (NV1 Clearance).

Proven work experience in Project and or Program Director positions focusing on multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects.

Exceptional Project Governance and Project Management experience within an EPC/EPCM/PMC contract environment.

Significant experience working in a government environment, specifically building relationships across multiple levels of government departments and agencies.

Experience working within a multifaceted stakeholder environment.

Relevant tertiary qualifications including a Chartered Engineering degree or similar. Project Director/Project Management certifications would also be advantageous.

Previous HSE governance and compliance experience maintaining an exceptional level of safety for projects of a similar size and scale.

The ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at a very senior level.

Moving forward together

We want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact. So, our focus is on a values-inspired culture that unlocks brilliance through belonging, connection and innovation.

We’re building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace. Creating a space where everyone feels they belong, can be themselves, and are heard.

And we're not just talking about it; we're doing it. We're reskilling our people, leveraging transferable skills, and supporting the transition of our workforce to become experts in today's low carbon energy infrastructure and technology.

Whatever your ambition, there’s a path for you here. And there’s no barrier to your potential career success.
